
In the use and installation of solar energy storage systems, it is very common for some users to use machines of different brands in parallel.However,how to combine machines of different brands into a system may baffle many users and even professionals. This article will briefly introduce you to how to set up communication between Felicitysolar’s battery pack and Deye’s inverter.
Determine the communication method
There are several communication methods between the lithium battery and inverter,commonly used are RS485 and CAN.We will first show how to communicate using RS485, and then briefly describe the settings for CAN communication.
Use the RS485 Demo
Connect the signal cable: According to the pin label, map RS485A to Pin2 and RS485B to Pin1. Use crimping tool to compress the pins to ensure the stability of signal transmission.
Connect to the inverter and battery.
Set the protocol mode: In the inverter settings menu, find the battery pack protocol mode option and select “12” to represent Deye’s RS485 communication protocol. Click “OK” to complete the setting.
Verify that Communication is Successful
After successful communication you can see the SOC and other information of the battery pack in the battery page
Use the CANDemo
Connect the signal cables: Connect CAN-H to Pin4 and CAN-L to Pin5, and use crimping tool to compress the pins.
Connect the inverter and battery: Connect the signal line to the CAN communication interface of the inverter and battery pack.
Set the protocol mode: In the inverter setting menu, select the battery pack protocol mode as “00” to represent the CAN communication protocol of Deye. Click “OK” to complete the setting.
Verify successful communication: Similarly, enter the battery page to check the information to confirm whether the communication is successful.
Attention:
- Before setting up the communication, please make sure you have carefully read and understood the user manuals of the inverter and battery pack to avoid operating errors.
- When connecting the signal line, be sure to ensure that the pins are firmly crimped to avoid interruption or instability in signal transmission.
- When selecting the communication protocol, please make sure it matches the protocol supported by the inverter and battery pack, otherwise communication will not be established.
